Oh, those damn rewards cards
This week I’m obsessed with wallet decluttering. And to further that, I have a couple of ideas for getting rid of all those “reward cards.” Here’s a list from my wallet—
- the gym
- NY public library
- REI Membership
- Duane Reade Flex Rewards
- CVS pharmacy ExtraCare
- Sephora Beauty Insider
- DSW Reward Your Style… I haven’t been there in 2 years!
- Kmart ShopYourWay… I shop “myway” only about once-a-year!
- Godiva Chocolate Club… I don’t even like Godiva!! Besides, everyone should buy their chocolates here from my amazing friend Lagusta! ;)
- Alvin Ailey class card… I haven’t been to a dance class since August!
Here’s my brilliant new plan… I finally got an iphone and discovered the Key Ring Reward Cards app (available for all iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry devices). It’s pretty cool—Just scan in your reward card’s barcode and Voilà…! Cashiers can grab your info straight off your phone screen!
If you don’t have a “fancy” phone, don’t feel left out!!
You, too, can stop carrying around all those cards! Most stores can simply access your account with an email or phone number. I haven’t carried my REI card around in over 10 years—I just give them my email address.
So, why not give it a try?! See how it feels to lighten your load a bit!
